About Me

Let's just be honest.  You aren't going to get the full picture if you don't know what you're looking at.  I'm a tall girl (5'10) with naturally mousy blonde hair (usually highlighted), and I have curves.  I usually wear a size 12-14, or size large. I wear a size 9.5 shoe. We'll talk about weight and transformation later on, but suffice it to say that over the next 12 months my size will be changing, so I'll keep you posted.  I try to dress to accentuate the positives.  I'm SUPER fair skinned, so you'll be hard pressed to catch me in a short skirt (could be blinding), but the body confidence is something I'm working on.  I believe that being your healthiest is the best thing you can do for yourself, regardless of your weight or size.

I'm 33 years old.  I think education is incredibly important and I have worked very hard to achieve all that I have.  I have 2 masters degrees and I wrote my M.A. thesis about the role that image plays in female leadership. I find it empowering to feel like you have control over how you present yourself.  I have a regular office/professional job, that is always fairly conservative, but still pretty casual.  Most of what I wear is centered around that environment.  So, this blog will have heavy doses of what I wear to work.

I was also a make-up artist for about 6 years for Glamour Shots (don't judge) and Bare Escentuals (yay!).  I did this part-time along-side of working full-time and going to school!  Yikes!  But that is all part of my passion for make-up, products and style.  I'll try to share as many tricks of the trade as I can.

Also, I live in Southern California where the weather is kind of year-round amazing (don't worry though-I put my time in with 20 years in the Midwest), and life in general is pretty casual.

I'm married, but no kids.  That is probably why I have the time to write this blog.

I don't go out to clubs (you could twist my arm), we are more dinner, drinks, and bars type of people.  I don't often go to balls or galas, and overall my life is pretty average and realistic.  Do I love a little fantasy once in a while?  Of course!  And I'll share that whenever it strikes my fancy.

Some of the topics I plan to cover are:
Items you need to have; i.e. wardrobe basics
Items on my to-buy list
Flats vs. heals
My purse philosophy
Nails and nail art
Growing out bad hair-my journey
Being a teen with scoliosis
Fitness trials and tribulations
& my purchases!

Thanks for checking me out, and please let me know if you want me to answer any questions or if there is a particular topic you would like me to cover.  Love ya!
